Nizhny Novgorod journalists lost to foreign students in a friendly soccer match in felt boots. The game took place on the football field of the Borsky sports center on the morning of January 21. One of the teams consisted of students who came from all over the world to study at the Kozma Minin Pedagogical University of Nizhny Novgorod and at Lobachevsky University. Their opponents were correspondents, operators and other representatives of Nizhny Novgorod TV companies and news agencies. The fans, who were in full support of the teams despite the snow and cold, added some hype to the match. The game consisted of two 15-minute halves, and there were 6 field players and a goalkeeper in each team on the field. In the first half, the only goal was scored by the students. After the break, the game became more active and the students scored three more goals into the gate of the NNTV sports observer Grigory Ozhigin. However, the journalists did not give up and responded with a "prestige goal" that was scored by the correspondent of "Channel 1" Pavel Zanozin. The final score of the game was 4 : 1. After the final whistle, all the players took photos together, hugged and received memorable gifts from the event organizers, the Nizhny Novgorod Directorate for the 2018 World Cup football matches.
