Lobachevsky University representatives took part in the symposium on nanomaterials held in a remote format from 3 to 5 November as part of the activities of the Russian-Indian Network of Institutions of Higher Education. The event was attended by over 50 scientists from leading universities in Russia and India.

Anton Konakov, Associate Professor of the UNN Theoretical Physics Department, was the moderator during the first day of the symposium, and Alexey Mikhaylov, Head of the UNN PTRI laboratory, made a presentation on brain-like memristive systems for high-performance computing and neural interfaces. Such systems are being developed at Lobachevsky University within the framework of the Russian Government's megagrant led by Professor Bernardo Spagnolo and as part of ongoing RSF and RFBR projects headed by A. Konakov and D. Tetelbaum.

Lobachevsky University works closely with leading universities in India, including the University of Delhi, Jodhpur Institute of Technology and Ropar Institute of Technology. Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that the efforts to develop scientific cooperation with Indian colleagues continue despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic. The new contacts and ties established during the symposium will make it possible to significantly expand this cooperation and take it to a new interdisciplinary level. Both countries' universities will join their efforts in addressing the issues of scientific, technological and human resources support to national knowledge-based economies. Lobachevsky University's participation in the Russian-Indian Network of Institutions of Higher Education is another step towards strengthening Russian-Indian scientific and technical cooperation and expanding interaction with leading universities in BRICS countries.
