Lobachevsky University students successfully passed the qualifying stages of the XII International Olympiad "IT-planet 2018/19". Now they will take part in the final, that will be held 4-7 October in Moscow on the basis of the National Research Technological University MISIS. The competition is one of the largest IT events held in Russia. It is aimed at bringing together educational institutions and business structures of Russia and CIS countries in order to improve the quality of IT education.

"IT-planet 2018/19" is held under the grant of the Russian Federation for the Development of civil society, provided by the Presidential Grants Fund. The event is supported by ANO "Agency for strategic initiatives to promote new projects" (ASI) in the direction of "Young professionals". It will be attended by students and young graduates from Russia and CIS countries, who showed the best results in the qualifying stages.

Participants will participate in 14 competitions in such categories as  "Programming", "Cloud computing and databases", "Telecom", "Mobile platforms", "Digital creativity", "Free SOFTWARE and robotics", as well as in the special category "Unlimited opportunities", that is aimed at developing software solutions for people with disabilities.

The leading Russian and international IT companies such as  1C, Huawei, Oracle, GNU/Linuxcenter, 1C-Gandalf, Morisot, SimbirSoft, TIM3R, Studio 15, Motor skills, and the Institute for system programming of RAS, Russian Organization of Disabled People and the National Organization of the Deaf are Founders and partners of the competitions.

The organizer of the Olympiad is an Autonomous non-profit organization "Center for Development of Information Technologies "IT-planet", co-organizer is a National Research Technological University "MISIS".

All participants and guests of the competitions will be able to participate in the public educational events. Some master classes and open lectures will be held during the competition. These events will provide participants an opportunity to get acquainted with new technologies, improve personal and professional efficiency. One of the sections will be devoted to robotics: everyone will be able to assemble robots on their own as well as to arrange competitions between them.

The program of the final part includes presentations of academic programs of vendors-partners of the Olympiad "IT-planet".

The award ceremony will be held on October 7.  The winners of the Olympiad will be awarded with diplomas, medals, as well as valuable prizes from the organizers and partners of the competition.
