During the project session held on November 29-30 at the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University, UNN delegation comprising Deputy Director of the Rehabilitation and Health Institute M.V. Ruchin, Head of the Center for Inclusive Education A.A. Surin, and staff members of the Typhlo-Information Center M.A. Roshchina and E.V. Makhneva presented  a project of the Educational Resource Center for Typhlo-Computerization to be established at Lobachevsky University.  The aim of the project session was to assess the capacity of higher education institutions as a platform for creating educational resource centers (ERC) to train persons with disabilities. Twenty Russian universities with the most interesting experience in organizing training programs for persons with disabilities were selected to participate in the session.

The Educational Resource Center proposed by Lobachevsky University is intended to assist universities in the comprehensive use of modern typhlo-information technologies to create  favourable conditions for the education and subsequent professional activities of visually impaired persons. UNN’s proposal has been noted by the experts as one of the best projects. According to the expert of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Olga Serebryannikova, Lobachevsky University’s extensive experience of supporting students with visual impairments deserves to be commended and can be useful to other universities.
