The Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) will provide a grant for organizing the 4th International Conference "Trade, Merchantry and Customs in Russia in the 16th-19th Centuries". It has approved a grant application of the research team including Associate Professor of the Institute of International Relations and World History (IIRWH) Veronika Belyaeva (project manager),  Associate Professor of IIRWH Alexei Morokhin and head of the historical bibliography group, leading researcher of the Russian National Library (St. Petersburg) Alexei Razdorsky.

The conference will be held in Nizhni Novgorod on September 28-30, 2017 at the Institute of International Relations and World History. It is expected to discuss a wide range of issues related to the history of trade, merchantry and customs in Russia in the 16th-19th centuries. This period occupies a special place in the historiography of commerce in our country, since during this time the all-Russian market was formed. The conference will host leading experts in the field of social and economic history of Russia, representatives of the academic community, scientific libraries, historical museums and state archives from 35 Russian cities, as well as from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan , Uzbekistan, Poland, and the United States of America.
