On April 18, the team the UNN Faculty for International Students (FIS) took part in the 7th Annual regional festival of national cultures "In This Big World", which was held at the Dobrolyubov Linguistic University of Nizhni Novgorod. This year, the festival was attended by international students from the Nizhni Novgorod Medical Academy, University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Technical University, Academy of the Internal Affairs Ministry, Linguistic University and some other institutions of higher education. The festival program included an essay contest, where the participants were divided into several groups depending on the level of their Russian language proficiency. In the competition of students of preparatory departments of Nizhni Novgorod universities, representatives of the UNN FIS won the top places: Liu Jiawen - 1st place, Guo Yunhong - 2nd place, Wang Jinmin - 3rd place. All of them come from the People's Republic of China.  Participants from Lobachevsky University also demonstrated very good results in their respective groups among the foreign students of Nizhni Novgorod: Milidragovic Mina (Serbia) - 1st place, Zhang Xichen (China) - 2nd  place, Mwafulilwa Maclean ( Zambia) - 3rd place, Pena Alejos Abigail (Peru) - 3rd place.

A number of UNN students were awarded with diplomas for their presentations in the roundtable discussions that also made part of the festival: Zhu Qidi (PRC), Velasquez Guzman Camila (Bolivia), Jailani Walid Ahmad (Afghanistan), Cheng Tao (PRC), Krajisnik Milica (Serbia), and Urdinola Carvajal Nathalia (Colombia).

During the National Fair, which is a traditional element of this festival,  students of the preparatory department of the UNN FIS Tosyali_Bag Tugba (Turkey), Xu Long (PRC), Chen Huiru (PRC) and Hu Yiya (PRC) presented traditional dishes of Turkish and Chinese cuisine.

At the concert of national cultures that concluded the festival, the audience was captivated by the brilliant performance of the "one-man orchestra" Li Huan (PRC) from the UNN FIS preparatory department.
