Lobachevsky University postgraduate student, citizen of the Republic of Algeria Yacin Mahmoudi took part in the International Youth Forum "Russia-Africa: Nuclear Education as a Potential for Successful Development of the Region". The forum was held under the auspices of the Rosatom Corporation at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and became one of the stages of the Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg. The forum was attended by more than 200 participants from 35 countries. In addition to issues directly related to the nuclear industry and its development vectors, forum participants discussed the development of youth and public movements and initiatives. This section of the forum provided an opportunity to learn about the best practices of youth involvement in international cooperation, as well as the fulfillment of the personal potential of young people, in particular, representatives of the African continent studying in Russian universities.

UNN has an extensive experience in implementing various projects for the adaptation and integration of international students into the university student community. As an active participant of various programmes and projects, Yacin Mahmoudi shared his experience with the participants of the forum and presented the Programme of Social Initiatives of International Students "I care - I can", which is successfully implemented by international students of Lobachevsky University.

"It was very interesting for me to take part in an event of such a high level and to have the opportunity to learn something new and useful, but I was especially pleased that compared to other universities - in terms of work with international students - UNN has vast experience and skills of professional activity in the field of social work with foreign young people, as well as unique practices that we can surely share with colleagues from other universities. During the forum, I managed to establish many contacts with representatives of other universities, and we agreed to maintain contact in order to develop activities on socialisation and adaptation of international students in Russia", said Yacin Mahmoudi.
