Overview
General medicine (the profession of general medical practitioner) nowadays is listed among the professions of highest demand. A diploma of a medical doctor is a basic step to build a career in Medicine. Currently, Lobachevsky University has high-tech theoretical, experimental and clinical facilities to train medical doctors within the framework of highest international standards, paying attention to the best world practices and innovation trends.
What is special about our program "General Medicine" is a combination of the best Russian classical forms of education and generally accepted educational technologies with a focus on the development of clinical thinking. Today, the most important breakthroughs and challenges of our times are associated with medicine, with the development of new approaches to treatment and disease prevention, with the transition from the paradigm "we treat patients" to the concept of "we predict and prevent".
With the development of molecular genetic methods, new opportunities are created for solving a variety of complex problems and developing fundamentally new approaches to the treatment of pathologies of various origins. Taking this idea into account, we must look at ourselves and at medicine - the main science about man - in a totally new way. A healthy future requires a generation of doctors with a new way of thinking and a new attitude to the patient.
Training and internship:
Students acquire primary medical skills and undergo clinical practice at various medical and scientific institutions of our city.
What job can I get?
General physician.
After finishing the medical residency according to your interests, you will be able to work within any specialty: surgeon, obstetrician-gynecologist, neuropathologist, cardiologist, etc.
