Home - News - Localization in open quantum systems demonstrated for the first time

28 February 2017

In their recent paper published in Physical Review Letters, UNN researchers I. Yusipov, T. Laptyeva, S. Denisov and M. Ivanchenko have demonstrated for the first time the phenomenon of Anderson localization in open disordered quantum systems. They have also developed further the theory of asymptotic states (quantum attractors) that arise in such systems. The obtained results open new prospects in the engineering of dissipative modes in quantum systems and can be used in the development of stable quantum computing. This work was supported by the Russian Science Foundation. The article is available at: I. Yusipov, T. Laptyeva, S. Denisov, and M. Ivanchenko "Localization in Open Quantum Systems", Phys. Rev.
