07 April 2017

On April 1, Science Slam Nizhni Novgorod was held on the stage of the Milo Concert Hall. Vladimir Klinshov, senior research fellow of the IAP RAS, won the first place with his story about complex dynamic networks. He received a telescope as a gift from the UNN Science Park  and  boxing gloves as a traditional prize for Science Slam winners. Other participants of the Science Slam included Ivan Oladyshkin, research associate of the IAP RAS, Maxim Lelet, head of laboratory at the UNN Research Institute for Chemistry,  Margarita Fokina, faculty member of the Higher School of Economics, and Liora Kagan, fifth-year student of the Nizhni Novgorod Medical Academy. Science Slam is an international project aimed at popularizing science. In an  informal atmosphere,  young scientists present their research to a wide audience in an easy-to-understand and entertaining manner. Each speaker has ten minutes to make a presentation, and the audience applauds to determine the winner. The organizers of the Science Slam are  the UNN Science Park "Lobachevsky Lab" and the "ScienceSlam Russia" association. The next Science Slam will be held in Nizhni Novgorod in autumn.
