Prof. Sergey Gurbatov, Head of the Department of Acoustics of the Faculty of Radiophysics, and Assoc. Prof. Igor Demin won the 2014 Nauka/Interperiodica International Academic Publisher Award for physics papers published in Acoustical Physics in 2012-2014.

Nauka/Interperiodica, an international academic publishing company, was established by the Russian Academy of Sciences and American company Pleiades Publishing to provide the world scientific community with access to the results of Russia's domestic scientific research. More than 200 English-language journals on physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology, and earth sciences are published annually.

The award was created to enhance the prestige of Russian science and encourage researchers to publish their works in the publisher’s journals. It was given to Prof. Sergey Gurbatov and Assoc. Prof. Igor Demin for the following original works on biomedical acoustics:
