Lobachevsky University Rector, Prof. Evgeny Chuprunov, led a delegation of two senior staff members, Vice-Rector for PR Nikita Avralev and Head of the Centre for International Education Alexander Gorylev, to France to sign agreements with Pierre-Mendes-France University and Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble. The visit took place from November 16-18.

Members of the delegation observed a minute's silence to remember the victims of the Paris terror attacks during a national day of mourning and expressed their condolences to the victims' families.

At the moment, Pierre-Mendes-France University, Joseph Fourier University and Stendhal University are merging into one university. The new merged institution - Grenoble Alpes University – will be one of the largest universities in France.

The visit resulted in the signing of a framework agreement on cooperation and double degree agreements. The universities jointly offer BSc double degrees in Economics and Management and a MA double degree in International and European Law. Graduates receive diplomas from both the Russian and French universities. These agreements will facilitate more mutual academic and student mobility between Lobachevsky University and Grenoble Alpes University.
