Lobachevsky University researchers, led by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Victor Kazantsev, took part in MEDICA World Forum for Medicine in Dusseldorf, Germany, from November 16 to 19.

MEDICA 2015 is considered ‘the world's leading forum for in-patient and out-patient medicine’ and ‘the largest and most comprehensive product display’ in the health care industry.

Lobachevsky University exhibited a robotic exoskeleton and a prototype system for registration and decoding human biometric signals.

ERK B1 Ilya Muromets prototype robotic exoskeleton is ideal for rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The exoskeleton has a multi-level neurointegrated control system. Its functional characteristics are superior to existing analogues and attractive to end users.

SRD-1 prototype system for registration and decoding human biometric signals is a device that translates control signals of human muscles to robotic devices (prostheses, manipulators, exoskeletons) and allows their remote control. Attendees of the exhibition had the opportunity to see how the device controls a hand phantom.

There was increased interest on the part of exhibitors, attendees, representatives of the business community and potential investors in the university’s exhibits. There is potential for productive cooperation with a number of world-leading research and education centers and high-tech companies.
