Prof. Maurizio Pompella (Certified Full Professor, Dean of the Economics and Management of Financial Intermediaries MSc at School of Economics and Management, University of Siena, Italy) is at Lobachevsky University for a visit at the invitation of the Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship.

Apart from conducting four seminars, Prof. Maurizio Pompella also participated in the Conference “Young Generation and Entrepreneurship: Issues of Theory and Practice” held on April 28.

The purpose of the conference was to develop recommendations on how to encourage and educate young entrepreneurs.

Young people are most likely to be starting up in business, and young entrepreneurs are inextricably linked with innovation as they are looking for a great business idea that addresses a gap in the market. Youth entrepreneurship has become a key focus of research worldwide. Scientists seek to understand the entrepreneurial attitudes and activities of young people.

The conference brought together academic researchers, senior company officers, government officials and students to support youth entrepreneurship across the country. Prof. Maurizio Pompella was a special guest speaker. He delivered a speech “Scientific Research, the Italian perspective,” thus providing opportunity for attendees to draw comparisons between the two countries.

Other speakers included: Ms. Olga Petrova (First Deputy Director of UNN Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship), Mr. Oleg Trofimov (Deputy Director for Science of UNN Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship), Mr. Alexander Bedny (UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs), Mr. Maxim Cherkasov (First Deputy Minister for the support and development of small business and consumer market and services in Nizhny Novgorod region), Mr. Vsevolod Evstigneev (Deputy Manager of the Head Office of Volga-Vyatka Bank JSC "Sberbank of Russia" in Nizhny Novgorod region), Mr. Sergey Kuznetsov (deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod region).

More than 300 students took part in the conference.
