A team of UNN’s international students took part in the annual Nizhny Novgorod City Russian Language Competition entitled “We Are Alike but Also Different,” which was held for the eleventh time at Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering on April 16.

The competition involved international students from nine Nizhny Novgorod higher education institutions testing their Russian language skills.

Four students from Lobachevsky University performed superbly and finished second overall in the event, taking two first and one second places.

Colombian student Camilo Celis Suescun was awarded the first place among students from preparatory courses, and 2-year Kazakh student Andrey Suleimenov from the Institute of International Relations and World History won the first place in a contest among students from CIS countries.

4-year Chinese student Weiwei Zhang from the Institute of International Relations and World History finished a close second at the event, almost winning her year group.

Student from the preparatory course, Andres Puello Campuzano, got a certificate of merit for advanced knowledge of Russian grammar.
