Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod (UNN) first entered top 500 of world’s universities according to Worldwide Professional University Rankings RankPro 2014/2015, which has been recently released by the International Council of Scientists (ICS) and Latvian Academy of Sciences on the website of international programme “Global World Communicator. Education and Science.”

According to the methodology, the rating of an institution of higher education consists of three following components: academic reputation (publication activity and quality of the learning environment), public ranking (data from national and international rankings, ICS experts’ assessment) and communicability of a university web homepage (availability, accuracy and attractiveness of information aimed at international users).

Russia has 26 universities in total in RankPro 2014/2015. Ten universities participating in Project 5-100 are among them. Lobachevsky University is ranked 492nd. It was not listed in the ranking last year.
