
A Joint Seminar Is Held at the University Lyon 1, France
Experts from Lobachevsky State University (UNN) participated in the seminar on the implementation of a Tempus-funded project, MetaMath: Modern Educational Technologies for Math Curricula in Engineering Education of Russia, which was held from October 13 to 14 at University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL), France.
The objective of the project is to enhance the quality of teaching subjects counted as STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) in Russia. MetaMath features a series of seminars aimed to develop recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process. UNN will host the next seminar from November 10 to 11, 2014.
Prof. Vladimir Shvetsov, Head of the Digital Division of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod (UNN), together with Assoc. Prof. Oleg Kuzenkov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Prof. Dmitry Balandin, Head of the Department of Numerical and Functional Analysis, and Mrs. Irina Borisova, Head of UNN Centre for Education Quality, provided his expertise on a range of practical issues and prepared the ground for the upcoming seminar.
