International Student Olympiad in Analytical Economics and Forecasting was held earlier this month in Minsk. The Olympiad in Analytical Economics and Forecasting is an intellectual competition aimed at stimulating students’ interest in the study of economic sciences and the tools for mathematical analysis of economic phenomena, as well as fundamental economic and mathematical disciplines. Lobachevsky University team comprising third-year students of the bachelor's program “Business Informatics” Pavel Korchemny (team leader) and Oksana Gurbich and the student of the master's program "Economics of Firms and Industrial Markets" Yulia Rumyantseva was among 11 teams from Russia and Belarus that successfully completed the tasks of the Olympiad correspondence round.

The final round was held on April 15, 2017 in Minsk, at the Faculty of Economics of the Belarusian State University. Based on the results of both rounds, the UNN student team won the overall 3rd place in the International Olympiad "Analytical Economics and Forecasting". The teams of the Moscow State University and the Belarusian State University took the first and the second place, respectively.
