At the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships in Lubin (Poland), the Russian national team for the first time made it to the finals beating Spain, Poland, France and England. However, in the final game the Danish team has managed to reaffirm their dominance of European badminton, and Russia got its historic silver.

An important contribution to our team’s success was made by Anastasia Chervyakova, an International Master of Sports and a first-year student of the Master’s program at the UNN  Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. According to Klavdia Mayorova, head coach of the Russian  team,  "Despite the purely technical difficulties that Chervyakova had with her visas and travel, she looked very confident on the court and demonstrated her great potential".
