In accordance with the objectives of UNN’s Competitiveness enhancement program among the world's leading research and education centers (5-100 Program), the procedure of international professional public accreditation was chosen, which involves European experts’ participation in the evaluation of educational programs.

To date, the Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship has completed the first stage in the framework of professional public accreditation procedure by carrying out self-assessment and preparing a report for the expert committee.

The final stage of the accreditation procedure will be the visit of the expert committee to UNN in the autumn of 2016. The committee of experts consisting of European and Russian representatives will conduct an audit of educational programs in Economics and will assess the quality of education in accredited programs.

According to UNN Rector Professor Evgeny Chuprunov, the University already has some positive experience of passing the procedure of professional public accreditation. In 2014, three UNN faculties successfully passed the international professional public accreditation: the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, the Faculty for Foreign Students and the Faculty of Philology. In 2015, UNN was the first of Russian universities to pass a joint international accreditation of educational programs with the participation of the Center for Quality Assessment of Higher Education of the Chinese Ministry of Education (HEEC). As a result, degree programs in Chemistry (the Faculty of Chemistry) and in International Relations (the Institute of International Relations and World History) received certificates on joint professional public accreditation.
