On May 17, a round table "Implementation of the Bologna Process tools in the Russian higher education system" was held at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in the framework of the 20th seminar-conference of the 5-100 project. The round table was organized by the Bologna Process Working Group under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science L.M. Ogorodova, Director of the Department of state policy in higher education at the Ministry of Education and Science A.B. Sobolev, Rector of the Peoples Friendship University of Russia V.V. Filippov.

In her introductory speech, L.M. Ogorodova said that Russia's participation in the Bologna Process and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) is in Russia's national interests, it contributes to the international competitiveness of the Russian higher education system, including the development of educational services export. She also noted the symbolic significance of V.M. Filippov’s participation in the meeting: it was Mr. Filippov who in 2003 in his function  of the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation signed the document on Russia's entry into the Bologna Process.

The aim of the round table was to discuss the National Report of Russia to be presented at the next conference of education ministers of the EHEA countries in 2018. Lobachevsky University was represented at the round table by the member of the Working Group on the Bologna Process under the Ministry of Education and Science, Director of the UNN Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship (IEE) A.O. Grudzinsky, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Executive Director of the 5-100  program at the UNN A.B. Bedny and First Deputy Director of the IEE,  Head of the 5-100 Project Office at the UNN O.V. Petrova.
