Innovation project of UNN students makes it to the Russian national finals of the Imagine Cup 2017

On April 15, the final 11 competitor student teams which were selected from over a hundred proposals will be showcasing their projects in Moscow at the 15th Russian national finals of the Imagine Cup. The jury of experts will choose the winner who will represent Russia at the world finals in Seattle. The Abrakadabra student team of Lobachevsky University will compete for victory presenting their project CarCarych. The project is a unique and stylish car gadget that monitors the driver's condition while driving and prevents him from falling asleep at the wheel. This innovation that uses Microsoft technology is designed to save hundreds of thousands of human lives.
According to Mikhail Chernomordikov, Head of Microsoft’s Strategic Technologies Department in Russia, the Imagine Cup gives talented young people a unique chance to realize their ambitious ideas, create a viable project useful for society and, possibly, set up their own innovation start-up company. Imagine Cup is a global contest for the most original student applications, games, and solutions and the winning team will take home $100,000 (US).
"Many of our students start working for large corporations, such as Intel, Microsoft, Google and Yandex, and some of them set up their own start-up companies", says UNN Rector Evgeny Chuprunov. ”Lobachevsky University is very strong in the field of information technology and prepares excellent professional in this field”.
