On August 19, the 23rd Student IT School "Technologies + Business" concluded its work at the UNN Faculty of Radiophysics. In the course of three weeks, more than 50 students from different universities and schools of Nizhni Novgorod, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia improved their knowledge in the field of IT, developed and implemented their own projects. The focus of this year's projects was on smart city - smart campus. The experts who evaluated the students' work gave the highest score to the project "Microclimate control system for premises and for the campus" presented by a team of Nizhni Novgorod high school students that included Egor Skorokhodov (Gymnasium No. 2), Egor Khorev (Lyceum No. 180) and Andrey Vinogradov (Sokolskoye Secondary School). This team proved to be superior even to university students' teams.

It should be noted that two of the three participants of the winning team represent the member schools of UNN's University Education Cluster - Gymnasium No. 2 and Lyceum No. 180. The panel of experts evaluated a total of 10 projects. This year, the IT school offered a pleasant bonus to its participants: it has been accredited as the semifinal stage of the UMNIK competition held by the Fund for Promoting the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Field of Science and Technology, and 7 of its projects will continue to participate in the Fund's program.

The IT school has been held annually since 2003, with more than 1 000 persons taking part over these years. 12 commercial technology companies have grown out of the projects created at the IT school.
