Times Higher Education (THE), Britain's most trusted source of authoritative information about higher education, has published a rating of universities with the best student-to-professor ratio where Lobachevsky University ranks among the top 100 best universities, taking the 99th spot. In total, the rating included 11 universities from Russia.
According to the experts who compiled the rating, the fewer students each faculty member has in a university, the higher the quality of instruction: better conditions for more interactive classes are created, students have more opportunities to participate in discussions and receive feedback. Stable and close professional contacts between teachers and students are established, the interaction between all participants of the educational process becomes more effective and a practically individual approach to each student is ensured.
These factors also contribute to creating a more supportive learning environment, which has a positive effect on the quality of educational programs and the degree of knowledge acquisition. According to UNN Rector Professor Evgeny Chuprunov, the university's high position in the rating fully reflects the results of many years of work aimed at improving the quality of education and research. "We pay special attention to the educational process, improve its quality, create all conditions and provide unique opportunities for our students to achieve high results, both in academic and research activities. The university has a highly qualified faculty, most members of our teaching staff have academic degrees and titles," said Evgeny Chuprunov.
The rating of universities with the lowest student-to-professor ratio is based on the THE institutional ranking.
