Lobachevsky University and the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have started preparing an agreement on research and educational cooperation.

The framework agreement on cooperation was initiated following a working visit by Vadim Lakiza, Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, a well-known expert in the field of Eastern European archaeology. He visited the UNN Institute of International Relations and World History (IIRWH).

During the meeting with the IIRWH Director Mikhail Rykhtik, the Belarusian guest presented the main areas of  his institute’s key areas of research and educational activities.  Vadim Lakiza was also informed about the results of research conducted by historians at Lobachevsky University.

The participants discussed potential collaboration in the areas of history and archaeology, possible formats for joint educational and research projects, internships for history students, as well as ways to enhance publication output and organise academic conferences.

The meeting was also attended by Artem Maslov, Deputy Director for Research at the UNN IIRWH, and Andrey Kuznetsov, Professor at the UNN Institute of Economics.
