100 trainees complete pre-university programme at UNN Centre for Educational Programmes for Foreigners
About 100 students have completed the pre-university training programme at Lobachevsky University’s Centre for Educational Programmes for Foreigners. They were presented with certificates by Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Networking.
"A few days ago we celebrated international students who received diplomas of higher education, and today we are presenting certificates of completion of pre-university training programmes to graduates of our Centre for Educational Programmes for Foreigners. This year, we have 129 young people from all over the world. Foreign students who come to study at Lobachevsky University first become trainees of our preparatory department, they learn the Russian language and the subjects, which depend on their future areas of studies and specialities. This is a very important stage of training, not only because knowledge of the Russian language is necessary for an international student's success in education, but also from the point of view of adaptation of the young people, their integration into the environment, into the student community. Of course, the teaching staff of the UNN Centre for Educational Programmes play an important role in these processes. They become supervisors, mentors of foreign students during their first year of study in pre-university programmes," said Alexander Bedny.
He also noted that most trainees of the Centre then enrol in their first year of study, becoming students of Lobachevsky University.
