Home - News RSS feed - 125 grams of bread: UNN joins the All-Russian "Blockade Bread" memorial campaign

On January 27, marking the Day of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade, Lobachevsky University in accordance with tradition took part in the All-Russian "Blockade Bread" memorial campaign.

During the event, portions of bread weighing 125 grams were distributed across the university grounds — this amount represented the minimum daily bread ration allocated to residents of besieged Leningrad during the most severe winter of 1941–1942. The initiative aims to keep alive the memory of the 872 days of the city's heroic defenсe, honouring the bravery and resilience of its defenders and civilians who endured immense hardship.

This year, the event was held simultaneously at the main University campus, at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, the Institute of Clinical Medicine, the Institute of Philology and Journalism, the Institute of  International Relations and World History, the Institute of Economics, as well as the Balakha and Dzerzhinsk branches of Lobachevsky University.
