INVESTIGATION OF PROCESSES OF MICROBIOLOGICAL DAMAGE TO INDUSTRIAL AND BUILDING MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES:

- Development of effective means for protection against biodamage by mold fungi of building and other materials in various industrial and household situations;

- Prevention of technogenic mycological diseases (mycoses, mycotoxicoses, allergoses) by means of protection of living quarters and industrial premises against biodamage by microorganisms;

- Development of methods for the forecasting of the performance of polymer compositions subjected to simultaneous effects of biocorrosion and climatic ageing factors;

- Development of a technology for producing biodegradable compositions on the basis of natural polymers and composite materials resistant to biodamage;

- Certification tests of varnishes, paints, concrete, building mortars and dry mixes from the point of view of conformity of their technological and protective properties to corresponding State standards.

Main results:

- A unique series of studies has been performed to reveal the patterns of microbiological destruction of polymers and other materials and to develop effective methods for preventing and suppressing such destruction by means of biocides that are on par with world's best;
- Scientifically proven principles of biocidal preparations screening and new effective means for protection of materials from biodestruction have been developed. The mechanism of inhibiting action of biocides on fermental systems of biodegradants participating in the destruction of polymer compositions has been studied;
- «Bio Z» competitive antiseptic compositions have been developed for processing nonmetallic materials (wood, bricks, concrete), possessing various combinations of fungicidal, bactericidal and algicidal properties.
