STUDING THE DYNAMICS OF THE INTERRELATED NEUTRON-PHYSICAL, THERMAL, HYDRODYNAMIC AND MECHANICAL PROCESSES IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS (NPP)
Main results:
- Methodological principles of mathematical modeling and numerical and analytical methods have been developed for researching the dynamics of the interrelated neutron-physical, thermal, hydrodynamic and mechanical processes in nuclear power plants (NPP);
- Methods for mathematical modeling the physical processes and functional diagnosis, control, and efficiency and safety validation of NPP’s (pressurized water ship NPP’s, NPP’s with liquid metal coolant, thermo-emission NPP’s for space vehicles, heat supply nuclear stations, nuclear power stations with gas-cooled reactors) have been developed.
This research was started on the initiative of Academician А . А . Andronov and continued under the guidance of Academician F. М . Mitenkov in close relation to the research agenda of Afrikantov OKBM, OKB Hydropress, I.V. Kurchatov Institute of Nuclear Reactors, A.A.Blagonravov Institute of Machine Science, RFNC-VNIIEF, NPO “Krasnaya Zvezda”, and others.
The dynamics and technology of electromagnetic suspension of a large-size heavy complex vertical rotor have also been studied.
