Lobachevsky University was included in the Subject ranking based on the results of professional public accreditation by the Higher Education Independent Evaluation Aggregator. The university was rated in eight (out of 55) subject areas. A total of 92 Russian universities participated in the ranking.

In 2022, Lobachevsky University received the highest rating (A) for its programmes in the following subject areas:

  • Chemistry;
  • Biological Sciences;
  • Electronics, Radio Engineering and Communication Systems;
  • Economics and Management;
  • Sociology and Social Work;
  • Political Sciences and Regional Studies.

The A rating means that the subject area includes internationally accredited degree programmes which are entered in the EQAR register. Compared to 2021, the number of subject areas with the highest rating has increased from 2 to 6.

Two more subject areas - Computer Science and Engineering and Law - were rated C. This means that these study programmes are publicly accredited at the national level.

The subject ranking based on the results of professional public accreditation is issued by the Independent Higher Education Evaluation Aggregator (Guild of Experts in Professional Education). Since the professional public accreditation in Russia is programme-based, a higher education institution receives a rating for a given consolidated group of study areas if at least one programme from this group has valid professional public accreditation. The ranking was based on the open data available on the portal of the national Automated Information System "Monitoring of Professional Public Accreditation", on the website of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), and official websites of organisations included in the List of organisations carrying out professional public accreditation of educational programmes of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as of 15 February 2022.
