Basketball in Nizhny Novgorod is becoming ever more popular with the success of Russia’s Bronze Medal at the London 2012 Olympics and the present success of BC Nizhny Novgorod in European competition. The team has several Russian internationals and is drawing players from the NBA. Being located a 5 minutes’ walk to the Trade Union Sport Palace, which is home to BC Nizhny Novgorod, UNN is a great place to hone your skills with an eye to making it professionally, with scouts regularly watching University level matches across Russia looking for draft picks.
The University Basketball team has International representatives within its current squad with the aim to making the squad more competitive in International Competitions by increasing the number of places increasing the competition for places.
UNN has a sports set-up primed for those wishing to play and compete in Basketball at any level, with teams for both Men and Women, professional coaching and optimal facilities are there to improve your Basketball skills including a gym and a training/match hall with spectator space, you could be playing Basketball to a high level whatever your experience.
