Federica Pastrello, the first Italian exchange student, started her studies at the UNN Institute of International Relations and World History (IIRWH) under the academic exchange programme between Ca' Foscari University (Venice) and Lobachevsky University. For this semester, she will join other international students in the Bachelors programme in International Relations. At IIRWH, she will study international law, international economic relations, culturology and business communication in a multicultural environment.

Lobachevsky University and Ca' Foscari University of Venice entered into an agreement on academic exchange of students and faculty members in 2019. According to the agreement, UNN undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students will be able to study at Ca' Foscari for one semester. The Italian university offers programmes in a wide range of humanities subjects taught in Italian or English, including international relations and history, Alternatively, UNN students can take language courses in Italian as a foreign language. The signing of the documents for inter-university cooperation was a logical step forward in the academic relationship between the Department of Humanitarian Studies at Ca' Foscari University and the UNN Department of Ancient and Middle Ages History.

The selection process for IIRWH undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students has now started for the academic exchange with Venice. Ca' Foscari University is prepared to host two IIRWH representatives per semester, and they will be exempt from tuition fees at the host institution.
