On June 20, 2026, in its 110th anniversary year, Lobachevsky University launched a new admission campaign across 13 faculties and institutes in Nizhny Novgorod, as well as at its three branches: in Balakhna, Dzerzhinsk, and Arzamas. In 2026, more than 3,700 state-funded places will be open to applicants for all educational levels at UNN. The university offers 20 specialties in secondary vocational education, 67 bachelor's and specialist programmes, 88 master's programmes, 23 residency specialties, and 64 postgraduate programmes.

This year, Lobachevsky University will introduce some new areas of study and specialties for applicants:

"Literary Creativity" at the Institute of Philology and Journalism, "Pedagogical Education" with a focus on "Leadership and Organisation of Corporate Training" and with a second qualification in the field of study "Economics" at the Institute of Economics, "Information and Analytical Security Systems" at the Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics. In 2026,  there has been an increase in the number of state-funded places in the areas of "Linguistics" (Institute of Philology and Journalism), "Chemical Technology" (Faculty of Chemistry) and "Applied Mechanics" (Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics), as well as "Psychological and Pedagogical Education" (Faculty of Social Sciences).

On the eve of the admission campaign, Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University, checked the readiness of the UNN Admissions Committee, spoke with the staff, and wished all applicants good luck, as the decision to enroll in the university is perhaps the first independent choice for an applicant.

"It is important not to be afraid to try new things, set ambitious goals, and move forward. Lobachevsky University aims to help uncover new talents and teach thinking. The admission campaign is important for both the university and the applicants, as it marks the first encounter with new people and opportunities. We work and study in an atmosphere where we want to grow," said the UNN Rector.
