Alexander Bedny: "Internationalisation is a strategic priority for Lobachevsky University"
The June issue of the Public Diplomacy magazine has been published. One of the key articles focuses on the Nizhny Novgorod region as Russia's leading region where this most important diplomatic area is actively developing.
"An important step in the development of people-to-people diplomacy in the Nizhny Novgorod region was the opening of the Centre for Public Diplomacy on 29 May 2024 at Lobachevsky University. The Centre was opened on the eve of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Nizhny Novgorod on 7-11 June 2024 as part of Russia's chairmanship in the BRICS. The Centre for Public Diplomacy will become a platform for dialogue with foreign countries. The best practices in the field of people-to-people diplomacy will be gathered here to create a unified system of coordination and support for initiatives in this area," the article reads.
"Internationalisation is a strategic priority for UNN. Lobachevsky University's rich international experience and its wide partner network around the world contribute to the development of interaction with foreign countries in education and science, culture and art, sports and other areas. The University helps to unite the efforts of representatives of different sectors, thus playing a crucial role in the development of public diplomacy in all its diversity," said Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Networking.
