Lobachevsky University has secured the 24th place in the 16th annual National University Ranking (NUR-2025) compiled by the Interfax Group. This represents a significant leap of three positions from the previous year.
The NUR-2025 ranking is a comprehensive assessment of universities based on six key criteria: brand, education, research, social environment, collaboration, and innovation/entrepreneurship.
Particularly high results were achieved in the "Research" and "Brand" categories, where UNN placed among the top 20 universities in Russia according to these metrics. In the "Research" sub-ranking, the university demonstrated the most notable advancement, climbing 25 positions from 43rd to 18th place.
The performance of 389 Russian universities was evaluated as part of the NUR-2025 project. The ranking includes all the country's high-profile universities: 29 national research universities, 10 federal, 33 flagship universities, as well as 146 universities participating in the Priority 2030 programme. Besides, the results of 22 non-state universities were assessed.
The National University Ranking project has been implemented by the Interfax Group since 2010. Its main goal is to develop the mechanisms and procedures of an independent evaluation system for Russian universities and their educational programmes, to enhance the competitiveness of the Russian education system, scientific research and technological entrepreneurship, and to develop federal and regional universities.
Previously, it was reported that UNN is one of the TOP 10 universities in Russia in terms of graduate income in the fields of economics and finance.
