The 73rd All-Russian School-Conference of Young Scientists opened at Lobachevsky University on 28 October at the UNN Centre for Innovation Development. This year, the conference is held in a mixed format, both online and offline. During the three-day conference, its participants will discuss current "hot topics" of modern biology, communicate with leading Russian and foreign scientists, share their experience.

Elena Zagaynova, Rector of Lobachevsky University, welcomed the conference participants and wished them fruitful discussions: "Dear friends, it is a great joy - despite our unusual situation during the pandemic today - to see young and healthy people who are ready to talk about their research and compete for prizes. Our university has two good traditions: a school for physicists and a school on biosystems. Every year, we grow and develop: today, not only Lobachevsky University students take part in the conference, but also representatives of other universities and the international community, which helps us to see the level of science abroad. Of course, the work of the conference shows everyone that it is possible and necessary to do science in our country. It is imperative that we demonstrate our results and achieve top positions not only at the regional level, but also internationally. I wish you interesting discussions and success in your work!”

Maria Vedunova, Director of the UNN Institute of Biology and Biomedicine, emphasized the prospects for growth and obtaining absolutely new knowledge for young conference participants: "For us, this is not only an important conference, but also a very significant one. It is our 73rd Conference, testifying to the great history of the development of research in biology and biomedicine at the UNN. There are a lot of science schools in the University, and each participant will find something new here. We will hear reports from mathematicians, chemists and other researchers who help modern biology and biomedicine to develop and play a proactive role in meeting society's needs.”
