Certificates presented to graduates of UNN pre-university programme
On August 10, an official ceremony was held at Lobachevsky University where foreign graduates were awarded certificates of completion of the UNN pre-university training programme.
"For a whole year, these students have been studying the Russian language and the core subjects at the preparatory department of Lobachevsky University. The aim of the course is to prepare the trainees for their university studies. More than 90% of these graduates will continue their studies at UNN on bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programmes, and one more person is enrolled in our residency programme. The training was quite difficult and not all of the students made it through the exams. Yet, those who passed these tests successfully receive their certificates today", said Konstantin Kemaev, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Affairs.
This is the second batch of international graduates from the university's preparatory department. In total, about 200 persons from 37 countries have been trained this year.
The certificate awarding ceremony started with the Russian Federation anthem. Ekaterina Smirnova, Head of the Preparatory Programme, Head of the Department for International Student Affairs, welcomed the graduates. She congratulated the students on the successful completion of their studies.
"The fact that you are receiving your certificates today means a very big victory for you. You will now start your studies at the university. However, this is only the beginning. There is an even longer road ahead of you in the study of the Russian language. Now you cannot forget the Russian language, you will continue learning it. At Lobachevsky University, every international student is given such an opportunity", said Ekaterina Smirnova.
