Chinese New Year Festival at UNN

Lobachevsky University is a big international family that brings together students from different countries, and every student brings a piece of his or her national culture and traditions into the life of the University. Last week, UNN students had a unique opportunity to learn more about the culture of the Orient. On Friday, February 19, a festival celebrating Chinese New Year took place at the library of Lobachevsky University. The event was organised by the UNN International Students Support Office together with the Glinka State Conservatory of Nizhny Novgorod. At the concert that made part of the festival, international students from Lobachevsky University and the Conservatory performed Chinese and classical music. The programme also included creative master classes where everyone could learn how to make traditional paper toys, write Chinese characters and even learn some words in Chinese!
