A sightseeing walking tour through the historical center of Nizhni  Novgorod was held on November 11 for the first-year students of the Faculty for International Students whose medium of instruction is English. The tour included the central pedestrian street Bolshaya Pokrovskaya, Minin Square and the Kremlin. Foreign students were introduced to the history of Nizhni  Novgorod and the role it played in Russia’s development  over many centuries; they were explained about the significance of the Eternal Flame and how the statue of the "Cheerful Goat" is related to the theater. They were also told how city dwellers relax and spend their leisure time and where one can have a tasty and inexpensive lunch in downtown. International students of Lobachevsky University expressed their gratitude to the tour organizers noting that it would help them adapt easier to life in Nizhni Novgorod.
