The international conference "Current Trends in Education Development: Best Russian and International Practices" (EduVolgaForum), organised by the UNN International Cooperation Office, concluded at Lobachevsky University. The 2023 forum was prepared jointly with Kazan National Research Technological University and Turan University (Republic of Kazakhstan).

The annual forum, which was held for the 4th time, brought together 250 participants. Representatives of more than 40 universities from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus took part in the conference. Oleg Trofimov, Acting Rector of Lobachevsky University, and Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, addressed the opening session of the forum.

The conference comprised two parts. On 26 May, there were three parallel panels in a face-to-face and online format: «Issues of organising the development of online education» (the panel was organised jointly with Turan University, Kazakhstan); «Foreign language teaching methods and internationalisation of education» (the panel was organised jointly with Kazan National Research Technological University); «Practice-oriented approach in the training of professionals for legal science, education, practice: legal-cultural and didactic principles and problems» (IV Nizhny Novgorod Legal Readings).

From 29 May to 2 June, the face-to-face part of the conference continued on board the ship «Alexander Radishchev" sailing along the route Nizhny Novgorod - Makariev - Sviyazhsk - Bolgar - Kazan - Nizhny Novgorod. The five-day programme included three plenary sessions of the conference and a thematic panel on the digitalisation of education and research activities that was held at Kazan National Research Technological University. It addressed such topics as problems and prospects of digitalisation in Russia, digitalisation of education in a research university, digitalisation of education and distance learning, the digital research and education ecosystem.

At the end of the international conference its participants thanked the administration of Lobachevsky University and all the organisers for the opportunity to take part in EduVolgaForum and expressed their interest in holding a conference in a similar format next year.
