Delegation of Ghent University visits UNN

On October 16, 2017, a delegation of Ghent University (Belgium) visited Lobachevsky University. The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Guido Van Huylenbroeck, Vice-President for Internationalisation, and included outstanding Belgian experts in biotechnology, information and communication technologies, law and economics. The meeting was opened by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny with a presentation of UNN’s latest achievements in the field of science, education and internationalization. Prof. Van Huylenbroeck, in turn, made a brief presentation of Ghent University and spoke about the activities of the "Russia" platform at Ghent University. The official presentations were followed by a round table where representatives of UNN’s institutes and faculties discussed with their colleagues from Belgium possible joint projects in the field of advanced research, as well as the prospects for launching joint educational programs. Later, Belgian colleagues visited the Neurosciences Research Institute, where they got acquainted with the latest achievements of UNN researchers in the field of neurobiology and biomedicine. As a result of the visit, both parties agreed to develop cooperation in the field of neuroscience, agricultural biology, software development and European law.
