A delegation of the UNN Faculty of Law including the Dean of the Faculty Evgenia Chernykh and Deputy Dean for International Affairs Andrey Leonov visited the Russian-Armenian University (RAU) and the Yerevan State University (YSU). The aim of the visit was to establish and develop cooperation between the universities in the field of academic exchange and joint research activities.

During the visit to the Yerevan State University, the delegation met with Gagik Ghazinyan, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Anna Margaryan, Deputy Dean, and Alexander Markarov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of YSU. They discussed opportunities for inter-faculty cooperation within the framework of student mobility, as well as joint academic activities.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, the parties agreed that YSU and Lobachevsky University have great potential to establish mutually beneficial research and educational ties. It was decided to organize introductory meetings between representatives of the UNN Law Faculty and students of the Yerevan State University.

While visiting the Russian-Armenian University, the UNN delegation held a number of meetings with the representatives of the Institute of Law and Politics of the RAU where the parties discussed common priorities and the most important and promising areas for joint work. In particular, mutual interest was expressed in various formats of student exchanges and joint Master's programmes, as well as cooperation in the field of postgraduate training.

The participants discussed further steps regarding research collaboration within the RAU working group and the research team of the UNN Centre for European and Eurasian Legal Studies including possibilities of joint project and grant activities in the area of interdisciplinary research on Eurasian integration. The parties agreed to hold joint academic and expert events with the participation of representatives of the Eurasian Economic Union in the near future.

The Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University was established in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Armenia of August 29, 1997. Today the RAU is one of the largest universities in Armenia which trains highly qualified professionals and is the most important pillar of Russian-Armenian scientific, educational and cultural relations.
