Development of inpatient services in the provision of prosthetic and orthopedic care

On December 6, the All-Russian Conference “Development of inpatient services in the provision of prosthetic and orthopedic care” started at the Center for Innovative Development of Medical Instrument Engineering at Lobachevsky University. 150 representatives of prosthetic and orthopedic institutions from 72 regions of the Russian Federation are taking part in the conference. This federal-level event was organized by the Moscow Prosthetic-Orthopedic Enterprise of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and its Nizhny Novgorod branch with the support of the National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. Welcoming remarks at the opening of the conference were made by Oleg Bessmertny, Director of the FSUE “Moscow Prosthetic-Orthopedic Enterprise”. Artyom Svyatnenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region and Victor Kazantsev, UNN Vice-Rector for research.

Conference participants will discuss a variety of topics including the development of an accessible environment, social adaptation and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities at prosthetic and orthopedic enterprises, the introduction of new approaches and innovations in the development of modern highly functional means of rehabilitation. They will also visit experimental laboratories that are involved in the development of the cyberheart, exoskeleton, neuromobile and respiratory equipment at the Lobachevsky University.
