Directors of Nizhni Novgorod schools meet at Lobachevsky University

On June 14,  a seminar for directors of Nizhni Novgorod schools making part of the University Education Cluster was held at Lobachevsky University. UNN Rector Evgeny Chuprunov welcomed the participants and gave an outline of the University’s immediate prospects for development. In the course of the seminar, the results of the University Education Cluster’s work in the academic year 2016/2017 were summed up and the regulatory framework for organizing its activities was approved. In addition, Maria Vedunova, Director of the UNN Institute of Biology and Biomedicine,  described in detail the new unique medical specialties that the UNN opens in 2017: medical biophysics, medical biochemistry, and medical cybernetics.

In the framework of the national educational initiative "Our New School", Lobachevsky University launched its program "University education cluster" in 2012. The program involves 23 best schools of the city and region of Nizhni Novgorod. Under cooperation agreements with these schools, University faculty members teach elective and general education courses, organize meetings to discuss specific topics with school students and prepare them for the Unified State Examination.
