Dr. Anand Kamavisdar, Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of India in Russia, visits Lobachevsky University

On June 25, Dr. Anand Kamavisdar, Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of India in Russia, met with Lobachevsky University’s administration, representatives of leading research laboratories and centres, and staff from the International Cooperation Department. Taking part in the event were also officials from the Nizhny Novgorod Region's Ministry of International and Interregional Relations and the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative office in Nizhny Novgorod.

During the visit, the guest learned about Lobachevsky University's 110-year history, its development and current areas of research, its infrastructure and facilities. Dr. Anand Kamavisdaralso had the opportunity to see the operations of several UNN research laboratories.

Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Affairs, noted that Lobachevsky University has long maintained active partnerships with Indian universities. There are quite a number of agreements on scientific and educational cooperation, as well as student exchange programmes.

"We have experience in joint large-scale research projects, such as “Electronics and Photonics” which focuses on developing products based on wide-bandgap semiconductors, and “Biomedicine” aimed at creating biocompatible nanocomplexes for cancer diagnosis and drug delivery. The visit of the Indian Embassy's Counsellor for Science and Technology to Lobachevsky University aims to strengthen our cooperation and identify new development directions. Dr. Anand Kamavisdar showed great interest in our cutting-edge research laboratories in radiophotonics, neurodynamics, cognitive technologies, memristor nanoelectronics, and the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre," Alexander Bedny noted.

Currently, 26 Indian citizens are studying at UNN. They are enrolled in the Institute of Clinical Medicine, the Institute of International Relations and World History, the Institute of Economics, the Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics, and Mechanics, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Centre for Educational Programmes for Foreign Citizens.

Lobachevsky University's partner institutions in India include Delhi University, the Indian Institute of Technology in Jodhpur, the Indian Institute of Technology in Indore, Jaipur National University, Poornima University, Indus University, and Lovely Professional University.
