Ecology at international level: UNN professor makes a presentation at a conference in China

Vasily Yakimov, Professor of the UNN Department of Ecology, took part in the Russian-Chinese Conference on Fundamental Sciences in Sanya (China). The conference was organised by the Russian-Chinese Institute of Fundamental Sciences, established by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Peking University during the official visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the People's Republic of China on September 2, 2025.

The conference featured the Earth Sciences Centre Forum, where Professor Vasily Yakimov from Lobachevsky University chaired the session titled "Biodiversity Research: Observations and Mechanisms".  He also delivered a report on applying multifractal analysis to describe the structure of ecological communities.  During the session, participants engaged in fruitful discussions with Chinese partners on potential collaborations in biodiversity analysis and modelling in the context of the changing climate.
