Exhibition in memory of IITMM's first director

An exhibition in memory of Victor Gergel, the first director of the Institute of Information Technologies, Mathematics and Mechanics (IITMM), has opened at Lobachevsky University. The exhibition is on display in the UNN second building lobby near classroom 112.

Victor Gergel was the author of more than 120 academic papers and created a new research trend in the area of mathematical models, methods, and software for information support in the processes of search for rational variants.  Professor Gergel has devoted his whole life, his research and creative career to his home university. In 1977 he graduated with honours from the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lobachevsky University in applied mathematics, which eventually determined his path as a talented scientist and leader
