Graduation ceremony at the Faculty for International Students
On July 14, 2017, a graduation ceremony took place for the graduates of the Faculty for International Students. 118 students from 41 countries in Europe, Asia, CIS, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East received their diplomas of bachelors, specialists and masters. 28 of them were awarded diplomas with honours.
Diego Fernando Dorado Daza (Colombia): "I am proud that I am a graduate of Lobachevsky University, because it has given me the opportunity to follow my life's path, to have friends from different countries, and to learn from highly professional teachers ..."
Victor Goodson Shilongo (Namibia): "My first year of studies was very difficult: I had to learn the Russian language, the weather was cold... But I did not give up! As you can see, I have graduated from the university and will miss this place ..."
The ceremony was opened by Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Lobachevsky University, who wished the graduates new achievements in their future career. The multinational audience was also addressed by the staff members of the Faculty for International Students, teachers and some of the best 2017 graduates. Parents and relatives of students who came from all over the world also took part in the graduation event.
Ibrahim Mkumba (Malawi): "I am convinced that the UNN provides excellent knowledge in the field of mathematics! This was the best place for my studies..."
Ahmed Hashim Jameel Al-Tuwaynee (Iraq): "In Iraq, I heard that Russia is a very educated country. That is why I have chosen Russia to get a very good education, because Russian education is highly valued in my country. I want to express my deep gratitude to Lobachevsky University and Russia for my studies in Nizhni Novgorod!"
Following a long tradition, foreign graduates of Lobachevsky University visited the central square of Nizhni Novgorod, where they took photos to keep them as memories of their studies in the Volga capital.
Victoria Krut (Ukraine): "4 years is a long time, but these years flew by very fast, and now it's time to get our diplomas! In fact, I'm a little sad, because I do not want to enter my adult life right now. However, I understand that sooner or later I'll have to do it. On the other hand, I'm happy because I've travelled a long journey, and my efforts are worth the result!"
Ibrahim Barakat (Syria): "I would like to say "thank you!" to my family, my parents and friends and, of course, to all my teachers from Lobachevsky University. Thank you for everything!"
Francesca Napoli (Italy): I came from the University of Calabria to Lobachevsky University as a student in the joint double-degree program. Study in Russia was a unique experience for me. I have got valuable knowledge, I have made new friends from all over the world and I have embraced Russian culture. Thank you for all that!"
