UNN researchers took part in the Nizhny Novgorod Science Festival. As part of the festival, a popular science lecture series was held at the Architects’ House.

Mikhail Viktorov, Dean of the UNN Advanced School of General and Applied Physics, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, gave a lecture titled "Space in the Laboratory." The audience learned about what a "cosmic storm" is, why it is important to study and predict solar flares, and how they can affect our lives.

Head of the Cyberpsychology Laboratory Valeria Demareva, Associate Professor at the UNN Department of Social Security and Humanitarian Technologies, delivered a presentation on the topic "From student to head of department: how to build a scientific career." The event participants learned about the benefits of a scientist’s career in Russia, the importance of career planning in an academic environment, and the first steps for aspiring researchers.

Yulia Chaika, lecturer at the UNN Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Chairperson of the Council of Young Lawyers of the Nizhny Novgorod region, discussed the role of social sciences and humanities in the digital age. The attendees of the lecture learned about the significance of interdisciplinary studies, the current trends in science  (the Strategy for Scientific and Technical Development), as well as new challenges and prospects for the social sciences and their relationship with other areas.
