Lobachevsky University hosted Nigeria Day, a lively cultural event to celebrate this African country and to explore its rich heritage. The event was organised by Nigerian students at UNN, who prepared a colourful programme that introduced participants to the country's rich cultural heritage, traditions, and ethnic diversity. Currently, 37 students from Nigeria are studying at Lobachevsky University.

The event showcased a variety of exhibits and photographs from Nigeria. Visitors had the opportunity to play the traditional Ludo board game, take part in workshops on applying henna and weaving bracelets, and enjoy the sound of both modern and ethnic Nigerian music.

The cultural programme was a highlight of the event, with UNN students from Nigeria performing solo numbers and demonstrating their national dances.

The event was opened by Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice Rector for International Affairs and External Communications, who welcomed the audience.

"This year marks the 20th anniversary of the programme for international students at Lobachevsky University. We are delighted to have students from various countries sharing their cultural experiences with us. When I think of Nigeria, the first thing that comes to mind is the incredible diversity of ethnic groups, languages, and traditions. This cultural richness is on full display at this event," said Alexander Bedny.

Nigeria Day has become a great example of intercultural dialogue and friendship, which strengthens the international student community at the university.
